A 69-year-old Caucasian man presented with a vegetative and purulent tumor measuring about 10 cm in the right inguinal region. He reported that the lesion was painless but had been growing progressively for 5 months. His past medical history was remarkable for Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Penis (SCCp), treated by partial penectomy, inguinal lymphadenectomy and chemotherapy one year prior. Biopsy of the inguinal neoplasm was found to be a metastasis of SCCp and he began treatment with radiotherapy and chemotherapy. The figure shows clearly the metastatic mass and the amputated penis.
SCCp is a very rare uro-genital cancer. Penectomy is an oncologically safe treatment modality in appropriately selected invasive tumors [1], but deviation from recommended management may be a reason of a significant prognostic worsening, as proper treatment favorably impacts on these tumours [2].
