Dr. Yalçın Duydu received his PhD in 1995 from University of Ankara, Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Toxicology with the study titled “Biological Monitoring of Alkyl lead Compounds”. During his postdoc training in the department of toxicology, he investigated the human health effects of lead exposure in occupational settings. He also worked on the DNA repair capacity in patients undergoing hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Recently he is working on the reproductive and developmental effects of boron in humans exposed to high level of boron and focused on the human health risk assessment. He has published numerous papers in peer reviewed journals including Mutation Research, Environmental and Molecular Mutagenesis, Archives of Toxicology.
He has received a fellowship granted by the “United Nations Drug Control Programme” and has complited a training programme in the “Analysis of Drugs in Biological Specimens” at the “Centre of Behavioural and Forensic Toxicology Instituet of Legal Medicine, Padova, Italy from 3 October to 30 December 1994. In 2001, he received a sholarship from TUBITAK (NATO-B2) and studied for 4 months on “Determination of oestrogen like activities by the yeast hER-mediated transcription assay” at the Institute of Ecological Chemistry (GSF), Neuherberg, Munich, Germany. In 2005, he received a sholarship from Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) and studied for 3 months at “Institute of Food Technology and Food Chemistry, Technical University Berlin” on “Effects of Lead Compounds on Oxidative DNA Damage in Cultured Human Cells and Human Lymphocytes”.
Yalçın Duydu is a member of International Union of Toxicology (IUTOX), Association of European Toxicologists and European Societies of Toxicology (EUROTOX) and Turkish Society of Toxicology (TST). He is an active member of TST and served as a Secretary-General of this society between 2001 – 2005. In 2011 he received the certificate of “European Registered Toxicologist (ERT)”.
Dr. Yalçın Duydu is currently working as full Professor in the Department of Toxicology, Faculty of Pharmacy at the Ankara University, Turkey.
