Biography

Dr. Tran received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2006 from Nong Lam University, Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam. She pursued her Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Professor Henrique Cheng at the Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA. Her dissertation focused on the utilization of rat dental follicle stem cells and human adipose-derived stem cells to study the mechanisms controlling osteogenesis and adipogenesis. She joined Professor Quyen Hoang lab in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Indiana University, Indianapolis, Indiana, USA in June 2015 and is currently investigating the molecular mechanisms of Parkinson’s disease, the second most common neurodegenerative disease.</p>
